DEX Messages

The CREST Simulator is fully DEX compatible. Version 17.0 and 18.2 are currently supported.

When a new version of the DEX is released Safe Financials ensure that all changes are implemented and are ready to test at least one month before the live date. Therefore, customers have the option of testing using the current live version of the DEX or the version pending release.

File Transfer Overview.

A file transfer file is defined as one physical file that comprises a series of file transfer
sub messages. Each sub message performs one business function.

The Simulator mirrors CREST, it performs an action, such as an update or an enquiry, as requested by the user in each sub message and returns one or more response sub messages as a result.

The basic structure is of a Header, Body and Trailer. Files and messages within this structure adhere to a profile governed by templates. Fields of the template can be Mandatory or Optional.
