• How do we connect to the Simulator?
How do we connect to the Simulator? Companies can connect to the Simulator in a number of ways:
Once a company has established a link to Safe Financials, transaction files that are normally dropped within a CREST gateway [Syntegra or Swift] are instead placed in a directory ready for export to the Simulator via one of the above connection methods.
No, Safe Financials Limited fully appreciate your security concerns. At all times the process is client driven. By using FTP scripts or alternate protocol methods, files are pushed into the Simulator and the generated responses retrieved. These control mechanisms can either be supplied by SFL [free of charge] or written by yourselves in-house. Alternatively,
some back office systems have inbuilt functionality to communicate with
an FTP location. The Simulator is maintained and operated by Safe Financials Ltd at our head office in Burton-on-Trent. No, The CREST Simulator like CREST is a live environment which you are permanently
connected to. It has been designed to suit your testing and training requirements
and is available when required. No, the Simulator acts exactly the same way as the CREST live environment.
In fact, you don't actually use the Simulator directly, you continue to
use your back office system which in turn communicates with the Simulator,
in the same way as it would communicate with CREST. The
Simulator is open from 5:30am to 8:30pm, Monday to Friday. However, these
times are flexible and can be extended to suit your testing requirements Yes,
your existing operator structure can be used with the CREST Simulator Yes,
the standard CREST currencies of GBP, USD and EUR are supported.
Trades
can be alleged against special auto match participants, who will match the
trades immediately. Alternately trades can be matched manually by SFL or
you can allege/match trades against any other participant within your testing
pool, including those operated by yourself.
